The only way to kick off spring
Forward to a friend

For regular travellers to Johannesburg, the myriad of hotels and guest houses available can easily become a blur, a mere backdrop against what essentially boils down to a bed and a pillow.

There are few establishments that make the lasting impression on their guests and diners that Clico Guest House does.

Providing everyone with the opportunity to appreciate that special character, Clico hosted a spring day art exhibition, featuring the works of local artists Valetta Doak, Audrey Rudnick and Josi Garmany.

With over 50 local business people, neighbours and friends raving about the specially designed menu for the day, which included deboned lamb shank and a creatively presented banana panacotta, the Clico spring day was a roaring success.

Art adorned the garden, bringing the already luscious Clico patio and garden area to life with sculptures and paintings. “It was a magnificent day, where people could relax and enjoy a glass of wine while chatting to new friends,” said Doak.

Many first-time visitors were pleasantly surprised by the tranquil ambience, attentive staff and exquisite setting of the guest house. “We didn’t even know the guest house was here! The food has been wonderful, the host and hostess charming, and the personalities are fantastic,” said Tony Dustan, a guest who came to see the exhibition on the day.

The staff kept the snacks, bubbly and cocktails rolling, and there was a special wine tasting courtesy of Boschendal wine estates.

As the day concluded with sundowners overlooking the garden, it was plain to all who visited Clico for the spring day exhibition that what keeps Clico guests returning time and time again cannot be defined but can be wholly understood.
