Dr. Marty Marriott has been a part of the Maranatha family for decades: first as a student, then as a member of the Board of Trustees, and now as our fifth president. His sincerity and wisdom have guided ĐÓ°ÉÂŰĚł and Maranatha Baptist Seminary since January of 2010, when he officially assumed the role.

As a Maranatha alumnus, Dr. Marriott can testify to Maranatha’s emphasis on developing leaders for the local church and ministry. After coming to Christ as a student at the University of Cincinnati, he attended Maranatha under the Cedarholm administration and developed a love for the college and its mission. In 1974, he graduated with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees and immediately pursued further training, receiving a Master of Divinity and later a bachelor’s degree in business management. In 2007, Maranatha Baptist Bible College honored him with a Doctor of Divinity degree.

With over thirty years of pastoral experience, Dr. Marriott brings a shepherd’s heart to his leadership role at Maranatha. He has served at Oak Ridge Baptist Church of Oak Ridge, Tennessee (1979-88; 1993-97), First Baptist Church of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania (1988-93) and Faith Baptist Church of Warren, Michigan (1997-2010). He has been a member of Maranatha’s Board of Trustees since 1998 and has also served on the boards of Baptist World Mission, the Independent Fundamental Baptist Association of Michigan, and the Michigan Association of Christian Schools.

Integral to Dr. Marriott’s ministry at Maranatha is his wife, Miriam (Cummins). The couple met while in college at Maranatha and married in 1976. Miriam is a frequent women’s speaker and is actively involved in ministry to students on campus. They have three grown children—Rebecca (Brock), Rachel (Roberts), and David—all of whom are married to MBU alumni and serve in full-time ministry. The Marriotts have twelve amazing grandchildren.

Dr. David Anderson is a visionary leader with a rich background in academia and administration. Appointed as the President of ĐÓ°ÉÂŰĚł, his extensive experience in higher education and commitment to fostering growth and excellence shine through. Dr. Anderson’s strategic approach and passion for student development define his impactful leadership.
